VFW Essay Contest

We are finishing the VFW contest essay and will submit those to our local post on Friday.  I hope we see some winners come from this class! :-)

Independent Reading Goals

Independent Reading Goals are due 11/11/15.  Starting today, I will put in students' current percentage of goal met and will update that weekly.  The reason I do this is to show students and parents how this grade could affect the overall average.  It is much easier to take action now with 3 weeks left as opposed to waiting to the last week.  The 2nd six weeks ends Friday, November 13th.

Student Planners and Class Supplies

Students need to have their planners and class supplies no later than Monday, August 31st.  There will be a planner check every Friday for a grade beginning next week.

Monday - August 24th

Whew!  We made it through Day 1, and it was a GREAT DAY!

A syllabus and parent acknowledgment form was sent home with each student today.  The syllabus includes the supplies needed for class.  The parent acknowledgment form needs to be filled out and signed by the student and parent and returned to me.  Additionally, every student needs a student planner this year.  This planner will need to go to each class, and students will be required to fill in their planners with information (due dates, objectives, tests, etc.) for each class.  These planners can be purchased on your own, handmade, or computer generated.  Students who have Mrs. New for LRC should have received their planners from Mrs. New today. There are a few planners available in the front office at no cost.
