For the Class of 2016, the FAFSA application is due BY MARCH 1st.
What does this mean? Students must complete the FAFSA application in order to complete scholarship applications and if eligible, to receive any federal grant money for college. So, all students planning to attend college in the fall of 2016 must complete this.
What do we do? If the parent's and/or the student files income taxes, they must get their taxes completed by mid February. Once this is completed, the FAFSA application can be submitted.
What if we can't get it completed that soon? The FAFSA still has to be completed by the -March 1st deadline. Parent's should call the high school counseling office 675-1847 or the main office 675-1845 to make an appointment with a counselor. The counselors can guide you as to how to complete the FAFSA on time.
Is your 2016 graduate the first one in your family to attend college? CHS Counselors will help you complete the financial aid process. Call 254675-1847 or 675-1845 to make an appointment. Appointment times are available during the day or evening, as needed.
