Currently, the Clifton High School schedule will fall short of meeting the new standard of providing 75,600 minutes of instruction within the 2015-16 school year. To comply with HB 2610 we will lengthen the school day by thirty (30) minutes. This change will affect all students. Beginning on November 9, 2015 classes at Clifton High School will begin at 7:55 AM. All parents of high school students were recently mailed a letter explaining the change along with a copy of the new schedule. You may click on the link below to download a copy of the new schedule.
HB 2610 Mandates new High School Schedule
With the passing of HB 2610 in the last legislative session, Texas Education Code was amended by eliminating the requirement for schools to be in session for a certain number of days. Schools are now required to insure students receive at least 75,600 minutes of instruction per year. The law states that this amount of minutes may be inclusive of lunch but may not include passing periods.
